***Wedding Open Day***
Sunday 12th March | 12noon-4pm

Crathes Castle is an enchanting 16th-century tower house adorned with turrets, coats of arms and winding staircases. Set in a peaceful 240 hectare estate including formal gardens, woodland and rolling Scottish countryside, Crathes Castle is located 3 miles from Banchory and within easy reach of Aberdeen.

Steeped in history, myth and legend, the castle offers an exclusive setting for intimate weddings. The majestic Great Hall with its high vaulted ceiling and panoramic views of the surrounding estate provides a romantic setting for ceremonies and dinners. Coupled with the walled garden, manicured lawns and great yew hedges, there are plenty of photo opportunities.

During spring and summer, the castle’s beautiful Golden Garden offers a wonderful location for intimate ceremonies. These may be followed by a drinks reception in the ornate Fountain Garden or Upper Pool Garden.  For larger receptions, marquees can be erected on the front lawn with the castle creating a dramatic backdrop.
